Tusk Presents Spring 2009 Preview Collection
New York, NY (PRWEB) September 29, 2008 -- Tusk worked with fine art photographer, Monique Lai, to develop the concept for the Spring 2009 Preview campaign, which transports the collection to a different era. The handbag seemingly has magical and mysterious powers that take the Tusk girl to a place where time seems to stand still. Shot on location in the glamorous Jumeirah Essex House in New York City, the campaign epitomizes Tusk's classic accessory designs with a contemporary twist.
Sleek silhouettes and inventive details in Italian crackle patent leather, metallic calfskin, and Spanish graphic linen canvas speak to the time-honored elegance of the Spring 2009 Preview collection. Inspired clothes by fashion designer Alvin Valley combined with the striking beauty of Ford model Gracileia reiterate the aesthetic that is signature Tusk.
"Monique's images are truly stunning," noted Tusk founder, Hiten Manseta. "She has a wonderful eye for light and finding the perfect composition for the shot. Monique and her entire team did a beautiful job capturing the organic lines and attention to detail featured in the Spring 2009 Preview collection."
"Photography has always been a personal journey for me. It is a way for me to connect to a viewer, and for them to see my eye," said Lai. "Tusk gave me the creative freedom to create a campaign that was aesthetically a story within an image. It was important for me that all elements came into place. We were ecstatic to have the Jumeirah Essex House as the timeless and beautiful backdrop for the 'Somewhere in Time' concept."
About Monique Lai:
Born in Montego Bay, Jamaica, Monique was heavily influenced by the colorful and natural surroundings of the island as well as her many travels to Asia as a young child. "Being exposed at such a young age to the beauty of architecture, of the land, of the people made me want to capture that sense of emotion through the lens of a camera." Some of her work, including photos of B.B. King at Lake Castaic, 'you', are owned by private collectors. Monique's 'Private Property' photography series, was featured at the ArcLight Hollywood in 2007 and she received critical acclaim for her first solo effort in directing the hugely popular one-woman play, 'Jamaica, Farewell'.

Fine Art Lighting Projectors
Fine art is often very old, and the inks and even the canvases that constitute the works are easily damaged by heat, infrared, and ultraviolet radiation. As such, natural light is never a safe source of fine art lighting. Projectors absolutely must be used to preserve the integrity of the piece and to showcase the richness and depth of color and texture. Ideally, fine art projectors themselves should be free from harmful forms of light, but unfortunately this is not always the case in older or cheaper models'at least not without additional filter accessories to screen out the Ultraviolet and Infrared light. Older projectors also tend to be a lighting designers specialty, presenting a cumbersome bulk too difficult for the layperson to work w ...
